Escape to charming Walla Walla for an elite culinary and wine tasting journey during the inaugural Friends of James Beard Weekend hosted by the Marcus Whitman Hotel. Friends of James Beard Weekend takes place over July 18 and 19, 2014 and features a tour, lunch and wine tasting at the Wine Country Culinary Institute followed by an inspiring 6-course wine paired meal prepared by James Beard-recognized Chef Antonio Campolio on Friday, July 18 and lunch, wine tasting and tour at Three Rivers Winery on Saturday, July 19. The weekend devoted to celebrating Walla Walla’s unique culinary and viticulture was created as a benefit to fund scholarships for Walla Walla Community College Students.
Friends of James Beard Weekend kicks off on Friday, July 18 at Wine Country Culinary Institute where guests are invited to explore the vast viticulture and culinary programs at the Walla Walla Community College. An educational tour, delicious lunch and wine tasting are hosted by Chef Dan Thiessen and Tim Donahue, Winemaker and Instructor at College Cellars.
