An Evening of Elegance, a Foodraiser, and Cole Porter

February 06, 2018

This month, the city of Walla Walla is featuring three special events. First, join us here at the Marcus Whitman on February 10 for award-winning wine and fabulous food at the annual “Evening of Elegance Dinner and Auction.” This event benefits the Walla Walla Community Hospice, and is its biggest fundraiser. For details, click here. Next, bring the young folks along on February 11 for an “instrument petting zoo” and free family concert by the Walla Walla Symphony Orchestra as they present “The Orchestra Rocks” in conjunction with their annual “Foodraiser.” Admission is free with a donation of any non-perishable food item.

Lastly, The Walla Walla Choral Society will present “Songs of Cole Porter” on February 26. Conducted by new Artistic Director Gary Hemenway, Porter’s music has made its imprint on generations throughout the world, and he is considered one of the greatest of the great American composers. His life story has been portrayed in several films, and his songs have been a favorite of many venerable vocal artists with such hits as “You’re the Top,” “Begin the Beguine,” and “From This Moment On.” For tickets, call (509) 529-6500 or click here.
